The Wanderkauven Take In the world of affordable vintage guitars, 1990s Korean Squiers are legendary. This 1993 model (VN Series) comes from the Saehan factory, known for producing necks that feel shockingly similar to their Fender Japan counterparts.
This "Blackie" style Strat features a deep, glossy black finish and a one-piece maple neck that has aged into a beautiful golden hue. The fretwork from this era is typically excellent, and the ceramic pickups have a hot, punchy output that drives an amp harder than modern Alnicos. It’s a fantastic platform for modding, but honestly? It plays and sounds killer right out of the box. If you want a piece of Fender history for less than the price of a new Affinity, this is the one.
